About This Photo

Photo shows view of the pavilions of the Nations and perspective of bridges near Exposition Universal in Paris France. The original photo dates to the late 1890s. Caption reads: "The Pavilions of the Nations and persepective of the bridges, Expositon Universal, 1900, Paris, France".

A photochrome(or photochrom) is a color photo lithograph, produced from a black-and-white negative. The final prints were created using different color impressions from multiple lithographic stones. They almost have a hand colored effect to them which makes them very unique considering color photography didn't come around until many years later.
